Progressive Suspension 422 Series Shocks with R.A.P.

Fully adjustable for ride height and spring preload.

Tune suspension to match riding style.

Shocks feature a show chrome cover.

Pair of progressive-rate coil springs and purpose-designed monotube dampers provide superior suspension performance.

Dampers feature a nitrogen charge that eliminates internal oil cavitation and helps create a consistent ride while resisting heat-induced fade.

The RAP (Remote Adjustable Preload) system allows for easy tuning of the shocks to account for changing loads or the addition of a passenger and is conveniently located behind the left passenger peg.

Simply turn the knob in either direction to set the spring pre-load.

Sold in pairs.

Made in the U.S.A.

NOTE: Heavy Duty Applications are recommended for bikes operating at or near the manufacturers maximum load rating over 50% of the time.

NOTE: Before purchasing or attempting to install shocks that are different than the OEM length, confirm that your wheel travel can be altered without causing clearance issues, such as swingarm/axle to exhaust contact as well as chain/belt guard or tire contact.

Progressive Suspension 422 Series Shocks with R.A.P.

If you're a Softail rider looking for impressive shock performance, look no further than the Progressive Suspension 422 Series Shocks with R.A.P. These impressive shocks feature a damper with a nitrogen charge that helps to create a smoother ride and reduces wear and tear on your bike's frame. Plus, the Progressive 422 shocks are easy to adjust so that you don't have to do any disassembly simply to carry a load. When you add in the fact that you can perfectly adjust the shocks to suit your comfort preferences, you end up with a great component that will help breathe new life into your bike.

Easy Adjustments

When you add custom shocks to your bike, you need to be sure that you have an easy way to adjust those shocks when you add a load. Whether this load is from items carried in your saddlebags or a passenger riding pillion, this extra weight can significantly alter your bike's handling characteristics. Fortunately, the 422 Series shocks feature RAP or remote adjustable preload system shocks. With the turn of a knob on each shock, you can adjust the spring-load to ensure that you maintain proper clearance while driving.

Smooth Ride

The quality of the rear shocks that you choose can play a big role in your overall riding experience. That's why the Progressive 422 shocks have monotube dampers that are precision-engineered to match the springs. With less play in the dampers, the springs are able to absorb vibrations more effectively, leading to a more comfortable ride. Plus, the dampers have internal oil cavitation so that there are fewer changes in the ride quality when you're riding on a bumpy road.

Good Looks

Despite all the mechanical wizardry of shocks like the 422 Series shocks from Progressive Suspension, it's still important that any component on your bike looks good from every angle. To provide a timeless look, the 422 Series shocks have a show-chrome cover that polishes up perfectly every time. Even though you won't be able to see most of the components of your shocks while you're riding, it's good to know that they've been designed to look and perform great on the inside and outside.

Smoother ride
Just had these 422 with RAP installed yesterday. I noticed a smoother ride as soon as I left the Harley Dealer. Can’t wait to go on a 4/5 hour ride.

does it make a difference to go with the heavy duty shock even though i would only carry a passenger once in awhile?
edward • Dec 24, 2019
Best Answer: Hello, If you are carrying a passenger every once in a while and or have saddlebags or luggage on the bike, then the Heavy Duty's would suit you. Thanks
