Works as advertised / Quality of sound is related to road speed
Definitely order 1 size smaller than your Shoei helmet size. This helmet runs big. I did 200 miles testing no ear pieces, small ear pieces and full ear covers. I ran on the local streets and highway at 80. If you use the right pieces at the right speed you will be amazed at how well this works. No pieces at highway speed = worthless. Also note, the matte finish scratches very easily. Wish I had gone gloss. I like it

Good product with inherent sound shortcommings
I'm a rider that listens to music often. I ride a Honda VTX which is not very loud. I bought this product hoping I would find a half-helmet that would give me reasonably good music quality as well as a good way to communicate with other riders and an acceptable way to make/take a phone call occasionally. I am used to a full helmet with separate in-ear blue tooth sound speakers paired to my iPhone, I was skeptical because of the open ear style of the half helmet and how that would impact the sound quality. I took this helmet for a day ride, listening to music and making some calls at a variety of speeds (15-50 plus mph), As I suspected, I found the sound quality not good. Just too much deterioration as the result of wind. The helmet comes with ear covers but I found that those changed the loudness of the sound quality but did not improve it. The ear pieces made the sound very sharp with the highs being uncomfortably high and a lack of mid & low spectrum. I imagine sound quality would be further diminished if I had a loud bike. Thus, I have returned the helmet.

To the credit of the helmet, it's well made and the blue tooth controls work well and are well thought out. The blue tooth pairing worked the first time and the helmet was comfortable. The helmet appears to be durable but a little on the heavy side relative to the full helmet I am used to.

Although disappointed that I didn't find a half helmet with the sound quality I was hoping for, I now know that the sound quality between open air and a closed or in-ear system is just too great and always will be. It't just inherent. If the difference would have been significantly closer, I was willing to accept some deterioration of sound quality with an open air ear system but the difference really was too great for me.

Again, I thought the product was well made thus I may look at one of the Sena blue tooth products that fit in a full helmet. Or, more likely I will just stick with my current system of a full helmet with a separate blue tooth in ear system. I plan to purchase a half=helmet and use the in-ear system and see how that works.
