Great modular for the price.
Got this on closeout a couple of weeks ago. Always wanted one, but the price was too high. Near top quality. I've owned them all, C3, Neotec, several Nolans, Gmax, several Vegas, etc. Love the drop down visor, just right. Love the quick release chin strap buckle. Love the left hand latch release. Love the deep speaker wells. Helmet fits intermediate oval, not like Signet-Q. Flawless paint. Perfect chin curtain. Very good visor detents. Maybe the quietest modular yet, close the Schuberts. Just went on 2,400 trip with this helmet. No issues at all, no forehead hot spots, everything worked great.

Well priced modular helmet
Love the quick chin strap buckle. Good air intake on top of helmet, but a bit noisy. Wish the visor had smaller adjustment opening for air or better air vent at chin bar.

Kabuto Ibuki ROCKS
I bought one of these after test riding my mates lid and felt like it was every bit as refined and high end quality as my Neotech which had become too loose after a year . So I sold the Neotech . When the Ibuki’s went on sale it was a no brainer. I actually bought my first one from another dealer but the price on two wheel was even better and more importantly , they had my size and color way.

I am 58 centimeters which puts me exactly between a medium and a large. I bought a large at first but it was too big and felt heavier so I bought the medium and it was very snug . Hoping it would break in and loosen up which most lids do I decided to wear it till it fit.

NOTE this only works if the head shape is good for your head . I was lucky for the Ibuki is my head shape kinda roundish not too long and oval , and so that was shen I ordered a second one. At two wheel price point on this helmet it was and is the bargain of the helmets for this year . It definitely rates with the Neotech in every way except name and has proven to be amazing in all weather and moves a lot more air than the Neotech . All helmets are a bit noisy and modulars get that way especially if you hang a SENA off the side . So there it is .

Great Lid , great fit for us rounds head shapes and the size Medium is same shell size as small and extra small so if you are lucky to have a fit in that range you get a Lid that doesn’t make you look like a bubble head the way most modular helmets do.

Two caveats. Taking out the cfeekpads to mount your headsets requires some forehand knowledge or you will break the super fragile rear clip on the cheek pad. Call the young man at the Kabuto Customer Service number that comes with your helmet if you are planning on taking the cheek pads out. IT IS NOT HARD but it is specific and there is a bit of finesse required to avoid breaking that little hook tab on them. The system works so well with the Sena that it is worth the little caution and care in removing the pads . One of the Helmets I bought must have been a return from the other vendor because the pads were already starting to crack at the seam . Fortunately not enough to cause a failure so I just put them back in. The CS will replace them if you break them , but who wants that when it is so easily avoided with a little forehand knowledge I does when done right make the pages which form not only the cheek pad but the neck ring all in one piece .

One more thing I should mention , comes with both the pins and the lens for the pin lock shield and brother in the south where we get humid rain daily that is a huge plus. All that and more for half the price of a Shoei. No brainer.

Also controls get a bit of getting used to as they are not intuitive but once you get the hang of it they are easier to find than the one on the Neotech.

If your head is more Oval you might not be a fit and at that point you could try the Neotech . I have found the Neo does work for me but felt so much heavier and so tight in the Medium size and too loose in the Large , which is usually a sign that the head shape wasn’t quite right for me. . If you are a 58cm or less the Medium will fit but be prepared to feel tight for about a few hundred miles of use.

Great helmet
Great helmet. Great fit with many options. Great price. Very quiet for a modular helmet at 90 plus mph. Can't go wrong here.

A Shoei at half the price
Kabuto Ibuki modular helmet - great deal from 2Wheel. The Kabuto could not be any more similar to a Shoei Neotec. Some details are better than Shoei - interior material and weight (lighter than Shoei). Other details favor the Shoei - better chin vent, better visor seal. Originally I wanted a Schuberth C3pro but it put too much pressure on my forehead. My next choice was the Shoei Neotec, less pressure but still some. The Kabuto Ibuki fits me perfect. I added a Sena 10U designed for the Neotec. It fit with minor modifications. However the Sena 10U designed for the Shoei GT Air would fit even better.
